Singing therapy for individuals

Singing therapy is a practical session adapted to you and your particular health and wellbeing needs. It may involve movement, breathing, vocalising, improvising and singing songs.

  • You may have a particular health issue you would like to address with singing such as COPD or a lung disease, high blood pressure, Parkinson’s or mental health issues such as anxiety and/or depression for which you would like one-to-one support.

  • You may have experienced trauma relating to singing, such as being told you can’t sing or to stop singing at school.

A practical and holistic therapy like singing can be helpful in alleviating and supporting a wide variety of physical, psychological and emotional needs, which co-exist.

About me and my approach

My approach is person-centred, compassionate, non-judgemental and evidence-based, using techniques and practices that research shows are beneficial for mental and physical health issues. This is combined with over twenty years experience of working with adults, children and young people.

My practice encompasses vocal technique, relaxation, mindfulness, musicianship, improvisation and music therapy-techniques in a gentle, safe and supportive manner. I am a trauma-informed practitioner, mental health first aid trained with public liability insurance.

Individual sessions start with an initial consultation of 1 hour (£70) after which they are 55 minutes at a cost of £65/hour. They take place in my comfortable, dedicated space in Southbourne, Chichester.
